“You are the Light of the world”

According to scripture, there are those who

would rather walk in darkness than face the

change of seeing a great light.

It can be a comfort not to be able to see very far;

the steep climbs ahead, the cliffs below.

Yet a single act of mercy can shine

enough light to allow oneself to see

a way to positive change.

Darkness, now looming, will be overcome.

God is not slow, God is patient;

and God loves us all too much

to leave us in the dark.

“You are the light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-15
