Drawn In…

fishingIt’s after E a s t e r

and Jesus is (not) gone…

Things aren’t working quite right….

Life is feeling more empty than full…

Unable to figure out why it feels this way,

its time, already, to recognize that on our own

we’re not who we were made to be.

The lake of each of our lives is deep- and we are not left on our own.

So in the silence of frustration, in

the stillness of the empty nets of life,

paying heed

to the familiar voice

of Jesus,

we perk up our ears,

our hearts are lifted

and we are

once again

drawn in

by Jesus’ all-embracing welcome.

Jesus said to them, “Children, you have no fish, have you?” They answered him, “No.”

He said to them, “Cast the net to the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”

So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in because there were so many fish.                                                    John 21:5-6

Tom, I love it that you do this. I read each one and like each one, this one especially. Please keep it up. It’s a good practice – for you, I hope, and for your readers.
