… Just then a lawyer stood up to test Jesus. “Teacher,” he said, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” Luke 10:25
Who is my neighbor? asks a lawyer, testing Jesus…
Jesus tells a story of one we would not expect,
God knows who any of these people are:
all we know is one of them isn’t one of us.
Thank God someone helped.
I saw a stranger yesterday.
I put food in the eating place,
drink in the drinking place,
music in the listening place.
And the stranger blessed me, my house,
my cattle and my dear ones.
Ah, as the lark says in her song,
often, often, often,
goes the Christ in a stranger’s guise.
